Sportswear thermal properties and details
Sportswear are an important part of an sportsmen equipment. There are more comfortable than normal clothes, because when you are practicing a sport, you move a lot. But the sportswear are design also to keep safe the sportsmen that is wearing it (for example the helmets). But an important feature of all sports clothing is the thermal properties. This feature is so important because it helps the sportsmen to feel better, because when he is in a hot environment the spors clothes help him stay cool, but when he is in an environment with fewer degrees, the sportswear is helping him to keep the heat of his body inside.
This feature is very importing because if the sportsman has to compete in a cold environment, he simply can’t wear a winter jacket as most of us to, because he can’t develop well. Just imagine a a champion of skiing wearing this kind of jacket and other clothes, so he is warm. Instead they have a special ski suit, that is wind resistant and also you can’t get wet because it is also water resistant, a very important feature near the snow. These ski suits are unisex and usually made from a water proof material, but the sportswear is formed by multiple layers, each with his own function like dry feeling, a second one for isolation and a third one that is wind resistant. These special characteristics can be achieved because the sportswears that are being fabricated in the present are made from latex or other synthetic fibers.
If he wants to compete at his higher performance, a sportsman must feel good in his own skin, his sportswear must be comfortable for him. This is when the third thermal property is very importing: the moisture problem. Because they are doing a very intense physical exercise, it is obvious that these people are swearing a lot also, more then usual, when they have no effort and no stress. So the sportswears have to be able to keep away the sweet from the skin, to handle all that moisture. So the perspiration must be “removed” from the sportswear, by evaporating it outside the fabric. Usually this feature is being achieved by using sport clothing made by 2 layers: standard polyester one that gives a dry feeling, because it is transporting the sweat to the other layer, made from hydrophilic fiber. This last layer will help evaporate the sweat.
